Just been on a great weekend trip with Fodral in a warm, almost spring-like Antwerp. We have been walking the streets, looked at architecture, drinking coffee in picturesque piazzas and we went to the Mode Museum to see the retro perspective on Walter Van Beirendonck.

I was invited to a workshop about denim arranged by Johanna Lindberg and Elisabeth Gudmundson at Malmöfestivalen.

Right now I´m in London having a good time. I´m taking a summer course at Central St Martins, doing experimental pattern making for a whole week. We are the last ones to work in these old rustic buildings at Charing Cross Road, as the school is moving to new locations. I´m really enjoying it and totally recommend it to others. Check out all summer courses here.

Today we learned two easier ways of making a corset.

There´s a cute exhibition at FORM/DESIGN CENTER right now about design, architecture, fashion and graphic form made of people in Malmö. The idea is to show the width of creativity and point out skilled people who actually lives in a small town as Malmö. I´m representing fashion together with four other designers. Go and see!

I´m in Stockholm at the moment!

Really happy to participate at a special course at SFA (Sustainable Fashion Academy) through scholarship, held at Swedish Trade. The course will offer great lectures and workshops by leading people and scientists, talking about the global textile industry, future fabrics, marketing and strategies. Very interesting and good to know information.

Polaroids seems to catch something real that is hard to evoke in our digital time. I just love how you can´t control the picture. The sound when you push the botton, then minutes of wait. Suddenly from nowhere an image emerges. Soft, grainy with soul. Was it on purpose Linus cut Emmas head?

Tokyo was great, quite different from what I´m used to. People are really friendly and respectful, helping out when you loose track of the map (which happens very often..) Have been eating fresh fish, wasabi crackers, trying vintage padded clothes from Comme des Garçons and beautiful kimonos, eating pastries on the 52th floor at Park Hyatt hotel (Lost in Translation), been to exhibitions with Odani Motohiko, Issey Miyake and Kishin Shinoyama.

November project

The process behind drawing the A/W 2011 collection brought new ideas and ways of thinking. Fascinated by the annual changes in our environment which comes with every new season made me want to explore. Amazed about the ability nature possess to repeat and repair it self with the same intensity over and over. Wow, such power. It´s like a slow performance taking place, a change of shape, from strong and proud to used, overblown and nothing. Photos of plants in change was not enough, I wanted to examine which kind of effects the change of nature could have on regular clothes. Thinking of current issues like recycling and degradation. I decided to place some white garments in various materials at different places.

I buried two pieces in a compost pile at my boyfriend´s allotment, one piece I dropped in the the canal, one in the sea near the beach and the last one I buried in the sand with some seaweed. I left it for a month and called the examination November project. Exited about how the clothes would turn out to be, thinking of them as my children. Would there be any effects at all? I hoped for interesting colours but did not want to get disappointed. The winter came fast to Malmö...in the end of November there was ice on the water, the sand was frozen and a angry swan made it impossible to get the ones at the beach. There was better luck with the other ones. I´m going to share some pictures from the project here.

Bijouteri MINT

As I wrote a few posts ago I´ve designed a special collection for the jewlery company MINT.
My idea was to create a personal jewlery line with a touch of soul and a vintage feeling. Inspired by unique objects like the ones you find at your grandmothers house, in an attic, or something old forgot in a drawer.

This is how the photo shoot turned out. Shot in my studio by Jens Nordström and the fab make up work is done by Jenny Hildrin .

I´ve been fascinated by colour variegation lately, specialy the natural ones around us as the autumn. The change is powerful and I never get bored looking at it. So now I´m working with some painting techniques trying to translate this beauty in to a fabric. I´m also hoping for interseting colour results from the clothes that I burried in the mulch at my boyfriends alotment place a month ago. Well in a few days I know for sure, digging them up in the end of this week...

I´ve made a smaller collaboration with a jewelry company. We shot some nice mood pictures yesterday with beautiful model Fanny. The make up artist was awesome and made reality of my idea, feathers as eyebrows. Gorgeous!
